I Hope You’re Prepared For The Google Predator (Prediction)

As you might have heard, a radical change is coming to Google.

(One that has serious implications for solo attorneys and small law firms who get the bulk of their clients from Google search traffic.)

I just saw it on the news yesterday:

Google Inc. is being slimmed down, ready to be swallowed up by a new holding company called Alphabet. But Alphabet isn’t a “holding company” in the traditional sense. It’s going to be one of the biggest conglomerates in the world. (Think Berkshire Hathaway, except it practically runs the net.)

What does this mean for you?

Google is becoming more powerful, and it’s becoming more of a problem for governments around the world.

Remember the Google “panda” and “penguin” updates from 2013, 2014, and 2015?

I ran the numbers and estimate that 34,295+ attorney websites lost more than 80% of their Google search traffic in 2014. (As you know, Google took a knife to websites that used “non-useful articles” and “spammy links” and cut them off from their lifelines.)

Well, here’s my prediction for the rest of 2015 and 2016:

As Google become more powerful, governments around the world are going to get more and more pissed off about it.

Especially Europe (read: France).

They’ll find more excuses to hand Google fines — and search “violations” are always an easy target. As Google gets more and more flak, they’ll pass this flak onto website owners that use outdated and misguided SEO.

We’re not talking pandas anymore. This is Google’s very own Predator, and it’s already looking for victims to kill.

Make sure your law firm’s website is NOT one of them.
